Did you know that Bill Gates was coming to Singapore.. i had gotten news earlier.. but was a bit slack in signing up for the free seminar on the future of computing including latest updates on upcoming product releases such as SQL Server 2005, Visual Studio 2005 and Longhorn. Unfortunately.. registration is no closed.. unless someone can offer to sneak me in.
hrrrmmpp.. it's always interesting to hear about technological advances... however, it is always a concern.. especially for professional in my field of laggards left behind. While it is great that our country has the funds to be able to maintain a certain acceptance level.. lots of time.. libraries do charge fees for cost recovery... rather than profit making... stuff for databases, equipment to access the information etc. Probably you can blame it on the vendors, middle man.. etc.. and not on the technology. However.. is there a way of making information accessible to all equally? For the learned and uneducated.. rich and the poor? Otherwise known as the digital divide...
hrrmmp.. i do wonder sometimes...
